- Managed the request for proposal process and allocation of public funding

These insights have shaped the philosophy behind SuccessStone Strategies, where I now apply my experience to help organizations gain strategic insights and build sustainable programs that have long term impact.
I have worked with multiple agencies to understand their current landscape and gain strategic insights. Recent projects include:
- Leading a fiscal analysis with community partners and national consultants to identify funding gaps impacting childcare program growth and sustainability in Kent County, guiding discussions and providing actionable recommendations.
- Convening multiple program partners to determine how blended funding sources specifically supported programming elements, enabling organizations to pursue additional funding without duplicating existing sources.
- Establishing a multi-agency data collection process to gather demographic, service, and referral data from 35 funded programs, monitoring services, and evaluating the collective impact on kindergarten readiness.
I am passionate about turning ideas into action, from concept through execution, and supporting agencies in exploring opportunities for more sustainable blended funding sources. A few examples of my experience working with funding include:
- Spearheading the implementation of one of Michigan’s first dedicated county-wide, tax-funded initiatives supporting early childhood programming. Oversaw the successful execution of the funding administration plan, including data collection, software planning, financial tracking, policy administration, and the award cycle process. Additionally, supported the renewal campaign for a county-wide property tax millage in August 2024, securing 0.25 mills for six years.
- Leading the startup of multiple Medicaid-funded group homes across state lines, providing specialized care for medically fragile individuals with developmental disabilities, and overseeing the recruitment and training of over 40 staff to ensure quality care and operational efficiency.
- Managing a three-year, $350K annually, workforce development program to expand training and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This involved building partnerships with organizations such as Meijer, Fifth Third Bank, and Grand Rapids Community College, resulting in five standardized training curricula to improve employment outcomes.
- Securing over $1M in philanthropic funding by developing compelling grant proposals for a variety of funders, including private foundations, local community foundations, and government sources.
- Overseeing a county-wide pilot program in partnership with three major hospitals in Kent County, connecting new parents with maternal-infant health resources and home visiting programs, and ultimately transitioning the pilot to a permanent agency “home” for long-term sustainability.
